Louisianian's body is found at lake

ARKANSAS DEMOCRAT-GAZETTE

CANFIELD -- Authorities on Wednesday found the body of a woman who vanished after reportedly trying to ride a mattress down the spillway of a dam on Lake Erling in Lafayette County on Tuesday evening.

Police identified the woman as Devan LeAnn Burge, 30, of Shongaloo, La.

Arkansas State Police Sgt. John Bishop declined to say whether it appeared she died from drowning, saying the cause of her death is under investigation. Her body was sent to the state Crime Laboratory for autopsy.

She was at the lake with a man, the sergeant said.
