Horse tranquilizers help man sleep

2009 Reader Submission
Pending Acceptance

A Fort Smith man who allegedly used horse sedatives at a Batesville motel to get to sleep is “lucky to be alive,” according to a local veterinarian.

According to Independence County Deputy Anthony Carter, a Vital Link ambulance was called to the motel just before 6 p.m. Tuesday and when they arrived they noticed items of a suspicious nature and requested police.

Carter said when he arrived the ambulance crew was loading 30-year-old William C. Wilson onto a gurney and preparing to transport him to White River Medical Center. ---- This next bit is from Associated Press.

--------

BATESVILLE, Ark. – Sheriff's deputies said a man used horse tranquilizers to try to drift off into sleep at a Batesville motel. Deputies said the man was taken to the hospital around 6 p.m. Tuesday. Inside his room, deputies said they found syringes and three bottles of horse tranquilizers. Deputy Anthony Carter said the man told him he used the drugs as many as five times that day to help him go to sleep. Veterinarian Mark Williams told the Batesville Daily Guard that the drugs the man used likely used are dangerous and tightly controlled. Williams said the man is "lucky to be alive."

Okay, overdosing is one thing, but taking _horse_ knockout drugs FIVE TIMES to go to sleep!?! What was he thinking!?! Just when you think morons can't be dumber, someone like this comes along. Thanks, Alexander, and submit again!

I agree with Candi. Overdosing is amazingly common, but using freaking horse tranquilizers five times just boggles the mind. This guy must have been the worlds biggest insomniac! Thanks, Alexander!
