Gone fishing with a coat hanger

2009 Reader Submission
Pending Acceptance

Darwin says, "Thanks for the submission, but although foolhardy, this is best left in the Slush pile. I think it likely that the air crew was making a joke about the coat hanger being a lightning rod (-:"
ORIGINAL SUBMISSION:

It was a clear night as I was working in the ER. The squad radio beeped and squeled a tone to tell us that a aircare patient was being lifted off. I turn up the volume to hear aircare ask if there any storms around. It was odd because it was a clear night. They explained that they were air lifting someone who put something in their rectum and then went "fishing for it" with a coat hanger. The metal coat hanger was now stuck because it perferated his bowel... He is a flying lighting rod. This not only was a near miss from death from perferating his bowel but missed out again from death lightning.

Ouch! This guy is facing even more embarrassment than he would have if he just faced reality and went for help without first trying the "handymans" method. Thanks, Blake!

What Bruce said! This isn't the first moron to do this, but I don't think it's 'too common' yet!

Heavy 100% cotton Hanes Beefy-T with an inadvisable tree-sawing situation on the front... and a few scattered leaves on the back! Click on the image for a full view. This one is not based on any story, but shows an amusingly apt situation.
