Electric shock "cooks" raider

2008 Reader Submission
Pending Acceptance

Leeds, United Kingdom. John Roberts, 39, arrived at his girlfriend's house at 5am in the morning, where he collapsed in a chair. She watched, horrified, while his skin turned black and split as it roasted in front of her eyes. "His skin was splitting on his hands and lips. His T-shirt had been burnt off. His face was all burnt, the only white was his eyes and teeth." Roberts had ignored danger signs while attempting to steal copper wire from a disused mill. He cut through the wire in a switch box and was promptly electrocuted with 11,000 volts. Health officials expressed amazement that he managed to drive from the mill to his girlfriend's house before collapsing. He was taken to hospital, where he diagnosed with burns over 37% of his skin surface, and died of major organ failure 10 days later. Coroner's Verdict : Misadventure

Yet another "dumb copper thief" for Darwin to take a look at. Thanks, Solomon.

Heavy 100% cotton Hanes Beefy-T with an inadvisable tree-sawing situation on the front... and a few scattered leaves on the back! Click on the image for a full view. This one is not based on any story, but shows an amusingly apt situation.
