Surf's Up

2007 Reader Submission
Pending Acceptance

A 21-year old main was traveling through New York City on the C-train with two friends when he thought "Why ride IN the train when I can ride on top?" So climbed between the cars, then scrambled to the roof so that he could hang 10 and catch the subway waves. Unfortunately he probably needed 20 (or at least some strong magnets) when he met a low wall at 155th Street and St. Nicholas Ave.

Neutral: Darwin Award
Train surfing is way too common these days, but subway surfing is definitely different and adds its own risks (low ceilings). I'll be neutral and wait to see what the other mods have to say. Thanks for the story, Stan

Definitely Keep: Darwin Award
I'll vote for this one since, as Chip said, it stands out due to being done on a subway and not a "regular" train. Thanks, Stan.

Definitely Keep: Darwin Award
As a resident of the Big Apple, I can say with certainty that roof clearance in the subway system is measured in inches. Thankfully, I was unaffected by the inevitable train stoppage which usually follows such an event!
