Forbidden Fruit

2007 Reader Submission
Pending Acceptance

William Collier was an avid Avocado afficianado. At 54 years old he sampled as many different varieties as he could get his hands on. He would go to extremes to get them even if it meant pillaging nieghborhood trees. He had sampled fruit from every tree in his community, save for one enormous tree which was said to produce the finest Avocados in all of South Florida.

So one day William decided to climb his "Mt Everest" and lay cliam to the bounty of this storied tree. Slowly he climbed branch by branch inspecting avocados, the higher he climed the riper the fruit was. He climbed higher searching for the perfect one. Alas he got the shock of his life when he was about to retrieve his forbidden friut. He touched an electrical wire bringing his quest, and himself to an untimely end.
