Man dies after being run over by po

2007 Reader Submission
Pending Acceptance

A man has died on Sat 26th August 2007 at Kalgoorlie in Western Australia's goldfields region after being run over by a police car.

Police were chasing the man's car about 2:00am when it veered off the road into bushland.

It is understood the man then jumped out of his car and tried to hide from police by lying on the ground.

He was then hit by the pursuing police car and later died.

Major crash police officers and internal investigators are at the scene.

I was originally going to toss this since he was hit by a pursuing police car but I decided that it's his own fault for causing the chance and his own fault for picking a hiding place that the police car could drive over. Thanks for sending thins in, Graeme.

After much soul-searching (I generally toss stuff like this), I too will vote nominal DA only because of the cartoony stupidity involved. This fellow could have been the villain in a Keystone Kops short!

Were the internal investigators there to investigate the man's internals which were spread about him on the ground? Sorry! Could not resist. I will be neutral on this one as well for the same reasons as my fellow moderators. Thanks for sending the story, Graeme.

Normally this is just another crime story, but lying on the ground and THEN being run over has great cartoon value!

Darwin Awards III: Survival of the Fittest

Hardback. 304 pages. Autographed.
$15
The human race's most popular humor series returns with a brand-new collection of macabre mishaps and misadventures. Honoring those who improve our gene pool by inadvertently removing themselves from it, the Darwin Awards III shows once more how uncommon common sense still is.

Salute the sheriff who inadvertently shot himself--twice! Witness the insurance defrauder who amputated his leg with a chainsaw! Heed the story of the farmer who avoided bee stings by sealing his head in a plastic bag! Cringe at the man crushed by a branch he'd just severed... directly over his head!

123 new stories, 18 full-page illustrations, plus discussions of transgenic animals, the origin of life, and more.

Autographed by Author!
