Shortcut under semi-trailer

2003 Reader Submission
Pending Acceptance

A 45-year-old man was run over by a semi-trailer and killed while crossing a street. Accidents happen and this may not seem unusual, but consider these circumstances.

The man who appeared to be intoxicated, decided to cross a very busy city street. He wasn't at a crosswalk, but fortunately the traffic was stopped at a light. All went well as he made his way through several lanes of stopped traffic until he got to the semi. Instead of going around the very long truck, he tried to take a short-cut underneath the truck. He almost made it but then stumbled and was crushed when the truck began to move when the light changed.

OK, this one is more detailed. It was poor judgment... But not "Hey, watch this!"

Ok, here's a better write up. Let the readers decide.

Darwin Awards III: Survival of the Fittest

Hardback. 304 pages. Autographed.
$15
The human race's most popular humor series returns with a brand-new collection of macabre mishaps and misadventures. Honoring those who improve our gene pool by inadvertently removing themselves from it, the Darwin Awards III shows once more how uncommon common sense still is.

Salute the sheriff who inadvertently shot himself--twice! Witness the insurance defrauder who amputated his leg with a chainsaw! Heed the story of the farmer who avoided bee stings by sealing his head in a plastic bag! Cringe at the man crushed by a branch he'd just severed... directly over his head!

123 new stories, 18 full-page illustrations, plus discussions of transgenic animals, the origin of life, and more.

Autographed by Author!
