BRIT TOURIST KILLED BY DUSTCART

A Briton holidaying in Greece is believed to have been killed by a dustbin lorry as he carried out a prank.

Police in Faliraki believe Matthew Benney, 30, may have gone under the truck as part of a bet with friends.

He died of a haemorrhage in hospital after he was run over by the lorry on Monday.

Authorities said they were investigating witness accounts that the tourist had run under the truck deliberately as part of a bet with friends.

The results of blood samples taken to established whether drinking played a part in the accident are yet to come back.

The truck driver, Antonis Kalligas, was arrested after the incident but later freed without being charged.

Mr Benney's home town in Britain is yet to be established by police.

An officer said: "The man who was killed was on foot and the truck hit him.

"He was taken to hospital in Rhodes but he did not make it.

"Two of his friends were with him and they gave statements, then were allowed to go."

I seem to be getting a lot of these stories in the reverse order than when they are submitted, so I'll pass this along to Darwin.

Agreed, need more info and a better write up but appears to qualify.

Not terribly funny as written, but after the follow-up stories come in it may be worth adding to the site. Let the readers decide?
