Male Darwin Syndrome
Why do men outnumber women 10 to 1 in Darwin's Annals?
I include women when I can, but still her showings are meager. Yesterday a
patient Sonoma College gentleman suggested, "Not me, but men try to out do
one another." They do test their limits, as Freeway Dangler attests.
Human Repair Advances
Those headed for a Darwin Award often suffer a few nicks and
dings along the way. Recently, helpful bacteria have been coerced into
pumping out a natural polymer. Their inventor makes medical sutures from
the fibers. Wonderfully, our body absorbs these natural threads, so no
more pulling out stitches! Doctors say the sutures are flexible and easy
to work with. The bacterial polymers are a perfect human repair
material. Hear more from Simon
Williams, CEO of Tepha, and former MIT Postdoc.
Speaking of PostDoc...
Postdoc
Comics mentioned me, Wendy, on April 6, a year after I had coffee with
Jorge. What a procrastinator! Jorge had to "time his banana"?! Enjoy his
comics. Buy his book!
